Mission: Our Credit Valley school community is committed
to improving on our previous best.

Parents and Guardians,
December is certainly a busy time for everyone and yet
it is full of joy and laughter as we prepare to spend some quality family
time with our loved ones. I would
encourage all of us to reflect on the year that we have had and imagine the
coming year filled with excitement, encouragement, laughter and success. Take a breath, watch the snow fall, embrace
and take advantage of this wonderful season ahead of us.
I want to thank our school community for supporting our
fundraising efforts this fall and their continued support as we close out the
event on December 9th by raffling off the grand prize, a 47 inch LCD TV. The students have been extremely
excited as I announce the winners of the preliminary raffles each Tuesday
leading up to the final day. As
of November 30th we have collected $7000, which is almost half of
our target of $15000 which will be used for technology in the classroom,
thank you so much. I would also
like to thank our School Council members who have worked diligently
organizing the event, purchasing prizes and counting money every week.
We are continuing with our commitment to school success
and a positive school climate by providing students with opportunities to
help each other and to help children around the world. We were privileged to have had a guest
speaker present to Credit
Valley from "Free
the Children," an organization developed by Craig Kielburger. The children received the message that
they are citizens of a global community who can make a difference and be
positive agents of change by using their collective voice, action and
decision making abilities. In a
school wide voting process, the students selected India as the country to receive
our support and they are now planning fundraising ventures. It was truly a positive and inspiring
presentation that made a significant impact on the children of Credit Valley.
The school would also like to invite parents, friends
and family members to enjoy all the Artistic Talents the students of Credit Valley
have to offer at our Art Gallery. The event will be held on Thursday, December 11, from 6 p.m. - 8
p.m. Student works of art
will be displayed throughout the school hallways, and families will be able
to view the art at their own leisure.
In addition, once you have completed viewing all the work we encourage
you to visit the gymnasium for a bake sale.
Lastly, I want to thank the School Council again for
putting on our Movie Night (Space Chimps). It was a great opportunity for
students and families to share a wonderful night out together with the
families of Credit
Valley.
The Credit Valley staff wishes all of our families a very safe
and joyful Holiday season. May you share an
abundance of satisfying times with family and friends as you celebrate the
promise and hope offered by a New Year…….
