ENVIRONMENTAL CLUB |
T.L.
Kennedy's Environmental Club is proud to enter into a partnership
with Think
Recycle.
Through this program we collect used cell phones, used
ink cartridges and used laser printer cartridges and send to Think
Recycle. They pay us
for these items and we use these funds to support our Environmental Club
at TLK.
If you have any of these items at home, please do not throw them
out. It is better for the environment and T.L. Kennedy if you bring these
items to school and put them in the Think Recycle box located in the main
office.

|
| We Improved
on the Literacy Test Again!
This year, our students writing the literacy
test for the very first time achieved a 77% pass rate. This is
an improvement over last year’s result of 73%. The rest
of the province maintained an overall average of 84%. So while
on average, schools across the province did not show improvement,
our school did. We are proud of the achievement of our students,
particularly since 71% of our students speak little to no English
at home.
Here are some more highlights:
- Our regular students writing for the first time were 4% more
successful over last year
- English As A Second Language students
writing for the first time were 27% more successful over last
year
- Applied students writing for the very first time were 27%
more successful over last year
- Special Education Students writing
for the first time were 13% more successful over last year
